Thank you for your interest in Retrospect. We have grown considerably over the last 3 months and because of that there are certain expectations for all our veteran and potential members.

  • Insults, racial slurs, bullying, and maliciousness will not be tolerated.
  • Ask for help if needed. We all needed help one time or another. If you need a little higher level help, or are confused/curious about something, speak up! On the same token, help other people out if you're available! Do not expect one without the other.
  • Schedule things: The website calendar is open for all linkshell members to post events or quests. If a handful of people need LB10/CoP Promies, etc, add an event to the calendar - you may get more people who need it as well, or additional help from available shellmates.
  • Use the forum's resources: We are working on expanding the forums to provide guides, or links to guides to make gameplay simple and enjoyable in FFXI. If a member redirects you to the forums, or another resource (FFXIclopedia, FFXIAH, etc), they are not doing it to be mean or condescending. Some content (ie LB1 or the Chocobo quest) is repeatedly asked about, as they are content everyone has to get done. Most (if not all) of these are documented on the web. Discussing strategy is always welcomed.
  • Don't spam and constantly complain: Our linkshell has great people willing to help when they are available. Asking repeatedly in a short span of time will not get your needs met any faster. The LS is also not an outlet for complaints about the mechanics of the game. We will always try to find a solution to a problem.
  • Don't be ridiculous: Make reasonable requests. Need a teleport? That's a fair request. Asking in linkshell chat for a teleport from Bastok to Dem (or Sandy to Holla, etc) IS NOT REASONABLE. The only exception to this is if a linkshell member is in that city and willing to help. If this is the case, politely send a /tell to find out.
  • Respect your fellow linkshell members. Everyone here comes from different background and experiences, both within FFXI and the real world.
  • Avoid controversial discussion. Politics, religion, and the like always spark a debate, and frequently start an argument. If you must talk about it, take it to a private channel. Heated discussions in linkshell chat will be moderated and ended by officers as needed.

If you can't resolve something on your own, utilize our team of officers. We are your peers; we joke around, join various events, and ask for help, same as any other member. We also dedicate a portion of our game time to help you out - with a conflict, with getting stuff done, or with planning an event. Don't hesitate to ask us any questions and address any concerns. We're here to serve you, our shellmates and friends.
